I do music and drive mini bus plus chats. An idea I came up with and you might take this on board I connected my laptop to the tv in the home and used u tube to show requests that they made like Dean Martin,Vera Lynn,Patsy Cline and it went down a treat just ask what is there favourite song or singer and let u tube do the rest all you need is a HDMI cable from the laptop to a smart television and an internet connection most homes have wi fi so it should not be a problem

What a great service. It sounds like you do this as a volunteer. I could see it being a business. So many places could benefit from this kind of service.

Good for you! I've been doing some hospice volunteering. So many old folks have no one at all in their lives. I usually end up visiting other residents besides my patients. So many are just so lonely.

Also, I have found that I know very little about the people I visit. I can usually get hold of a relative or talk to staff about someone's history and interests. It's helpful visiting people with dementia to know a little about them, especially the days gone by, as they can usually remember and talk about long term me memories.

Good for you for brightening their day!

Sometimes my Dad with dementia has a hard time following conversations so I lookup youtube videos on my Ipad quite often to give us something to talk about. He particularly likes short videos that are easy to follow...especially with cute animals. They are great distractions for him!
