Find Care & Housing
Do you mean you have to buy gloves? This past year they have become a hot item. I don't see gloves as been a NON essential. Maybe it's become something of a difficult item for the NH to get.

Hop on the internet and buy a ton. OR keep your eyes open at stores and pharmacies. IDK, I always have kept a box around the house for cleaning jobs that require me to get down and dirty and I want to throw them away.

Memory Care is self pay right? Mom was in an AL and I was not required to provide gloves. And to tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to unless I was guaranteed that they would only be used for my LO. And I don't think they can guarantee that. Another resident hasn't provided them so the aides come to your LOs room. If I provided them, it would be a box at a time with LOs name on them on the box. Keeping the rest in my car. These can be expensive. Then its Latex or no Latex. Powder or no powder.

In the beginning of Moms stay in an AL I bought cheap waste basket liners putting the roll in the bottom of the basket for the aide for changes. The first time the aide took the whole roll, the second time she took the whole roll (thought first time was just a mistake) I asked the Adminstrator about it. I was told they supplied the liners. So, I just let it go and never bought anymore.
