About same time I had discovered my pancreas was no longer producing insulin and had to start taking, I had noticed I had become less interested in foods that I always loved. Big portions, big food, bbq ribs, big burgers etc. And over the last 5 or 6 yrs it's slowly progressed. I found I no longer craved foods and was only eating out of necessity. Only thing I wanted was my sweets which I could not have like chocolate everything, ice cream, cakes, candy bars etc! But occasionally treated myself thinking I have insulin just compensate for it!

But this past year getting healthier was weighing on my shoulders, so my walking became a couple miles a day and working out with lite weights mainly machines will start again, October! But because actual eating is not a graving I have substituted it with this superfood plant based diet I’d read about. I also do the Garlic and Raw Honey mixture daily 4-6 cloves with Honey, had ate honey religiously when bodybuilding as a kid for few yrs and knew the benefits of it but honey is as good if not better for you due to it’s antibiotic nature. I also take a daily cleanser all of which have all the fruits and vegetables needed for vitamin, minerals and fiber. I do eat but it’s not much, a small sandwich or a low cal TV dinner. Small portion if that daily, but I’ve also read where too many pre/probiotics as well as antioxidants/ just to much of a good thing is a bad thing as well. So I’m trying to reach out to see what advise others could give or if this is a good or bad idea all together! If anyone has some advise I’m all ears I could really use some before I get to far off track here and do more damage than good!

Just a note I feel better than I’ve felt in long time it’s been steady for 6 months now just an FYI! Thanks

Agree with tacy022 but you should also know that supplements are considered a food and therefore not regulated by the FDA and therefore no one really knows what they actually contain because those sellers are not required to prove the supplements do any or actually contain what is stated on the label. Not talking about the actual honey and garlic you referenced, but any pills, powders, capsules, and tinctures, etc. that you buy from any source. Also no proof they are manufactured in a sterile/safe/clean environment, no proof contents are not mixed or contaminated with other substances (dirt, bugs, animal feces) and no proof that each capsule or pill in the same bottle all have the same dosage and potency. Whenever possible it's better to eat actual fresh food because you know what you're getting. Take supplements at your own risk.

Geaton, please check your information. You are stating some flat out misinformation.

There are supplements that are guaranteed to contain exactly what they say and they are overseen by the FDA.

I suppose if you are buying supplements from an unknown country you could be in danger of eating crap, but then again the health department allows a certain number of visible cockroaches in facilities that are producing prepackaged food, so you are getting bugs and crap in those gluten free crackers.

Oh, it has been proven that our soil is so depleted that we don't get important nutrients from our food anymore. That is one of the major reasons Americans are so unhealthy. Supplements are so important to give our bodies all the nutrients we need.

Hi! you have a special medical issue with insulin and your pancreas, and it might be good to get advice from a medical dietitian. Ask carefully for a referral - so many dieticians deal largely with obesity or anorexia, and that's not what you want. You will probably only need one advice appointment, it's not a big investment.

My dad's oncologist used to recommend V8 juice whenever he was not able to eat subsequent to his chemo treatments. She said it had everything he needed in it. I suppose she knew what she was talking about.

I think there's an ensure light which only has 80 calories which is also a supplement we used to use, if that helps at all.

You and margerite are correct Tracy all of you so far! What is hard for me is this unrequired desire to eat without gagging or wanting to throw up! I just plain lost my desire for food and having to regulate blood sugar with insulin and not eat is a powder keg. How many times the insulin will drop you quick taking the fast acting for type 1 puts you in a drunken stupor lightheaded slurring words and as soon as you feel it your reaching for the sugar bowl it is a lil unerving ! I got a doctors appointment in 3rd, time to get it together now I hope some easy answers ! Thank you. all for the advise it’s well takin.
