I was exhausted after taking care of my Love. Yes it was hard, very hard. But, I cared very much for him. He is gone and I have a home to get in order so I can sell it. MAYBE.We had a fire about a yr before he passed, so everything went into storage. Can you imagine having everything you own in boxes and having to unpack even before the Memorial.I think it got to me. I have had shaking of my body in different locations. Sometimes, (I have no control over it), my body will jerk. My handwriting has gotten so bad, I live in a small town and no matter how much I complain to my doctor (who is a good friend), he seems to dismiss my complaints. After the Memorial, he did put me on anti-depressants. (Due to family issues about MONEY).Maybe my body had just had enough, or maybe I too am seeing the onset of Parkinson's. I have a cousin who had palsy. I understand that is heretitary. At any rate, does anyone have the first steps to finding out if I do have parkinson's. Is there a test? The uncontrollable movements are difficult. I actually had a good day today..

One more thing in my question. For about 8 months now, I have had this CRASHING Sound in my head and it is so loud, it wakes me up. I explained it to the doctor and he said he has never heard of it. Or my body will jerk to the left or right while I am in bed. Can anyone help me?

Oh, Oregongirl, you have been through sooo much. First look up the side effects and interactions for the meds you are taking. Ask the Pharmacist, they know more than MD's about side effects.
Second, early Parkinson's tremors respond well to Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Take one at bedtime. I hope that helps. Godspeed.

The movements sound like myoclonic jerks, the noise was is something wikipedia calls exploding head syndrome (EHS). Both could be related to Parkinson's, but there are many other causes, some benign. I think you should get a referral to a neurologist.

Oregon, you've been thru so much. Prolonged stress can really wreak havoc on one's body. It's easy to read symptoms as one illness, when it may be something else is actually going on. The best way to determine if it's Parkinson's is to see a neurologist. Take care.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Care taking is really demanding and stressful. I only did it for my cousin inside the home for a short time and it wrecked havoc on my body. It could be anything, but I would follow up with a neurologist. Not knowing is difficult and worrisome. Find out, because it could be something else or stress. It sounds like your primary isn't very involved. I would seek answers with an expert despite that.

Oregongirl, I've had that sound in my head, too, which would also wake me up... it's like a heavy window slamming shut. Also will feel like my head is shaking, especially if I am sitting at the computer writing on the forum.

You could have post-traumatic-stress as I remember reading your journey with your mate, his illness, and passing, and stress related to his grown children. My gosh, it is almost a year ago, seemed like just yesterday.

My doctor just put me on anti-depressants, I use to refuse to take them in the past, it wasn't until I crashed and burned that I decided I needed some help. I have noticed the shaking isn't as much, which is good.

Don't overthink this.

Oregongirl, I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I read on your profile that you have RA -- could the muscle spasms be related to that? Your doctor should refer you to a neurologist, but he should also run a blood test and check for B12, D, etc. and see if it could be something simple that a vitamin or mineral supplement might help.

I get that noise too sometimes. It's a little more frequent when I'm stressed. I also sometimes get a falling, jerking feeling -- once in a while it just happens, but when I was young I had several months of that feeling of falling and jerking awake after I lost my other grandpa. It was really bothersome, and the poor sleep does not help you feel any better.

I hope your doctor will take you seriously and get you to a neurologist. And I hope you feel better soon!
