It is for me. I don't get around much, I do put feet up when practical to do so. Swollen legs and arthritis. Apart from the meds I take (as prescribed) does anyone know - has tried REVITIVE? It's the foot/leg booster. It costs £199.00 which is a LOT of money. Would it be worth getting? If the answer is yes, I will save for it. If you have tried one and it did not work then I won't save. Thank you

REVITIVE Circulation Booster uses Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to stimulate thousands of nerve endings in the soles of your feet. As a result, the foot and calf muscles contract and relax to create a pumping action, activating the circulatory system in the leg. Using the Circulation Booster™ by REVITIVE™ for just 20 to 30 minutes per day can help to maintain healthy circulation in your lower legs and feet, and reduce pain.

Since I do not know the cause of your swollen legs, I suggest that you contact your physician and ask his/her opinion as to whether this would help your swollen legs.

I agree. My husband had very swollen ankles and legs, so bad the skin was actually shiny. He had congestive heart failure. Your best bet is to call your physician.

Buzzy, support tights are a heck of a lot cheaper. Scholl do good ones.

There are also those Japanese massage flip-flops which might have a similar stimulating effect.

But these magic massage efforts..? Please!

Mind you. You could see if anyone you know has got one, and ask to borrow it for a week. With all of these things, it's more a matter of whether they make you feel better than whether they have scientific credibility per se.

My blood pressure medication was causing my feet, ankles and legs to swell up so I stopped taking it last July and haven't had a problem since then. I told my doctor and he has me on another medication.

Buzzy, are you spending a lot of time sitting? If so, that can contribute to ankle edema. So can driving for long periods of time.

Do you do any simple exercises, like ankle pumps, while you're sitting? Does your diet include a high salt content? Have you ever been in congestive heart failure?

Assuming you're mobile, walking around is helpful to decrease ankle edema. Ankle pump exercises help.

I do think though that you should discuss with your cardiologist the fact that you're apparently having some significant ankle edema. Even if the machine is worthwhile, it still is a good idea to try to decrease the edema through exercise and low sodium diet.

GardenArtist yes I sit a lot. I am not very mobile but I try and get up for 5 mins every hour (if I am able)

No, my heart is good (they proved it lol)

I Youtubed ankle pump exercises and will start that tonight in bed. I cannot lay totally flat (because of my breathing probs) but I will elevate my feet (on a pillow) on top of my blanket rest.

That is why I was asking about the Revive, it is supposed to contract etc, the muscles in legs, feet and knees (like ankle pumping without laying down)

Thank you all for your great help and suggestions. I knew I could count on you. :)
Hugs

My father used an EMS on his leg muscles for a while but found the sensation was very unpleasant at the setting needed to actually contract his muscles. Ended up being a waste of money in his case but obviously everyone is different. Might be worth asking your doctor to trial an EMS if one is available before you buy!

It sounds like the compression devices they put on your legs in the hospital to prevent DVTs
There has to be a reason for the edema in your legs. So have your Dr investigate that and see what medication can help.
You mention breathing difficulties so do you have COPD? if that is the case it will effect the heart function and make the circulation less efficient.
I know your question concerned a certain devise but i think you need more care rather than wasting money on something that may not work.
