Find Care & Housing
Money was never talked about before until the veteran complained to their family members about it. The family doesnt care about the money. They just want to be able to visit the veteran without being yelled at by the caregiver. The caregiver has made it to the point that no one wants to visit because of the drama.

It is not illegal for the caregiver to get PAID from a disabled veteran's funds for food, clothing, shelter, medical care that is not covered by the VA, transportation to/from medical appointments, etc. If you are afraid that the disabled veteran is being abused, you can file a complaint with Adult Protective Services but you need to have some basis for the filing. Sometimes elders don't want to have family members around. Sometimes there is a bad purpose, but it also looks bad if a family member is asking about the money being given to caregiver instead of concern about not being allowed to see the family member without mention of money. The VA can also investigate, but be very careful if you stir a pot that may get the disabled veteran deprived of a good caregiver that is using his funds for his own care and put into a facility or delivered to your doorstep.

What is the relationship between the caregiver and the veteran? Are they family? Is the caregiver an employee?

Any time there's a situation where one person is trying to isolate another person red flags should go up.

Nope the caregiver is keeping away all the veterans family members away from him. She is only allowing her family to come around him.
