Well, in my experience with the Catholic funeral, the priest receives financial recompense. Same for weddings. If you fee, funny handing him money, find out what church he represents and make a donation to

I do think so but would have utterly no idea what amount and would ask someone at the hospice, even if I had to phone to do it, and just say that you are not familiar with protocol. Really, why would you be.

Yes, a donation is usually given. In my Church the minister can keep it as part of his salary. Six yrs ago I gave my minister $50 for a graveside service.

Hospice minister did not perform my husbnd’s Funeral, but he spent a considerable amount of time with my husband during the time he was in Hospice care (about 8 weeks). I sent him a card and $100.00 after my husband died. He was a great comfort to my husband, myself and other family members. I gave our parish priest $100.00 for his funeral which is fairly standard in our parish. I honestly didn’t feel he did much for my husband or me and wasn’t very impressed with the funeral. He seemed rather bored to have been there. My husband was active in the parish and had known is priest for about 8 years.
