Talk with a care giving agency for temporary help and speak with you inlaws.....maybe then they can come to a good solution

We need more information such as do your in-laws live with you or are they living elsewhere? What are the health or age issues that would require someone to come in to help?

Why do they not want anyone else? What about a friend of theirs that they are comfortable with? Neighbors? Have you researched Home Health Providers and shared the information with them? As freqflyer asked, whats their health issues? Do they have Life Alert or something similar? Is there a home health care nurse coming in?

I have to admit that I am getting leerier and leerier of hiring outside help. Just in the past 6 months 2 different care takers have stolen millions form elderly they were supposed to be helping. (Tucson) I do use a house cleaner and yard person, myself and I got luck with them, I think.

So, it depends on what all needs done or if someone else can be there to "over see" what the new help is doing. I think that your parents concern is real.
