Due to increasing Alzheimer's symptoms, my sister's family has decided not to bring her to her son's wedding. She is feeling unwanted; was it the right decision?

Traveling with moderate ALZ would be pretty much a nightmare for all involved. Airports are confusing and stressful. She would have to be helped with EVERYTHING. Then staying in a hotel is another world of problems too. While it's very sad that she is feeling unwanted, I would not want to bring my mom with mild dementia to a wedding to Vegas.

Is there anyway that they can do a small reception that she can attend at home? This might help her feel better.

I would encourage them to get a video done so she can see the ceremony.

The in between time of knowing what is happening and not is so very difficult. Finding ways to not hurt feelings is a real challenge because the patient thinks they are fine to do things and they aren't.
