Lloyd, contact a VA hospital or VA home directly and ask them if they're hiring, and how you can apply.  Do you have any military background yourself?

The VA doesn’t have classes for this or provide certifications. You actually need to contact local health and human services organizations in your area. The VA does have support programs however you have to be a caregiver to a veteran who is enrolled in the programs. These are not certification programs either, they teach you how to manage stress and communicate better. And no it doesn’t all depend if they sever during a war. Non-wartime veterans are eligible for benefits and pensions.

Call your VA office and see if they have classes where u can get accredited. VA benefits are very complicated. It all depends on if they served during a war. How long they served and if retired. Those that are usually representatives of the VA have also served in a branch of the Military. Call your Office of Aging and ask what kind of schooling their employees need.
