To ease your mind, why don't you decide who you want as your POA after your dad dies, discuss it with that person, and revise your POA document to list that person as secondary -- the "backup" position?

But no, POAs are not inherited!

You sisters POA on Dad stops at his death. Like said, you pick your POA who handles your medical and financial ONLY if you no longer can. The person has no control until you r no longer capable.

mylemondrop, no your sister wouldn't have Power of Attorney over you.

If something should happen to your Dad, you would need to select a new person to be your Power of Attorney. it is usually best to have two names on a POA just in case the first person is not able to fulfill his/her obligation.
