I think My mom is waiting for me to tell her it’s ok to go before death. How do I muster up the words? I just can’t!!

Some say a patient is waiting for others to say goodbye, or that it's OK to die, or that the Lord is waiting for them, or …. Who knows? I would just talk to her, tell her you love her, reminisce if able to ( it can be emotional), hold her hand, talk about the family, that everyone is doing fine. If there are g'kids, talk about them. Touch is important! You want her to feel in her mind that it's OK to die.

You can tell her you and grands will be ok, that you love her and your life is great, even if it is not.

So don't tell her goodbye, just talk about how you are doing OK and put a positive spin on what your plans are for the future. I think this push to give people permission to die is over rated and it's not always what those nearing the end want to hear, especially those who are still fighting.
