There are good reasons to avoid the surgery. Number one, the high BP makes you high risk for a complete failure of the surgery. Lose 20 lbs and go for daily walks, get the BP lowered.
Since cataract surgery is voluntary (not emergency or required) most doctors, rightfully so, will not perform the surgery on anyone with risk factors. High blood pressure is a risk factor that can exclude someone from any surgery, but especially from voluntary surgery. I would honestly be surprised if you could find a doctor to do this surgery on you with chronic high blood pressure. If you do, I would question the doctor's experience or skill, as no doctor should take this risk. My recommendation is to get your blood pressure under control first which I'm sure your doctor has been recommending all along. Angel
