Find Care & Housing
Just last year we began investigating what help is available to people who are not rich. I was pleasantly surprised by how much was available to keep them living at home. We consulted an Estate Planning Attorney. The initial conversation (and actually a couple conversations following) were free. We were only charge for some paperwork that we agreed would be good to get done.
We are in New York and the availability of help varies even by county so you need to contact the Office of Aging in your county to get started. I thought the application process was unnecessarily complicated but don't give up.

Our biggest problem is getting our elderly to accept the help available. But that's another topic.
