When things change with our loved one, we go through a grieving process. You need to take the time to grieve this change in her health and in your relationship. Your love for her will get you through the rough times, although you may feel that it is SOOO intense and all consuming. You need the support of other friends and relatives at this time. If you have few friends, please do what you can to develop friends or reconnect with old friends. You need to take care of yourself before you can care for your mom. You will need to have a contining support system. When her time comes, you will be lost and alone otherwise.

I don't understand. Are you saying that your mom is your best friend? If that's the case, then how would she act towards you if the roles were reversed? Love covers a multitude of ills, so let the love you feel for her be the eyes that you see her though.
