May, please note that the vast majority of adult children caregiver's do not get paid... unless your parent can pay you from her retirement fund.... if yes, then you would need to have drawn up an employment contract.

Another idea is to see if your Mom is approved for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. Depending on your State Medicaid programs, they might have a program that will pay you to take care of your Mother, but note the pay will be very minimal.
