After my mother’s death we got a bill from state of Louisiana for estate recovery! We were able to get the amount reduced! But upon the sale of her property the state had not placed a lien on her property! What happens now with this bill? Can you help?

I too advise you to pay it. Get it over with. Answer the letter or call someone and document who you speak with. Pay the debt making sure you have a receipt and be done with it.

They haven't had time to apply the lean. If you have an amount it could have been paid at the time of settlement.

Pay it that way you can close this out and not worry about legal ramifications if it is not paid.
