Dear OLLIEMAR1423, What a lovely post. I would take the advice from newbiewife. You have some good information to lead you in the right direction. 75 years of marriage how wonderful. I wish you many blessings and pray you both are able to continue to be together. Thank you so much for your service. God bless you and your wife. May God keep you in his care. Hugs to both of you!

WOW! What an excellent job you have done and thank you for your service. I am quite impressed you have been able to do this for so long by yourself.

Call the VA to request assistance from them. Also check out their website.

Call the Area Agency on Aging. They are a wealth of information on any resource to assist the elderly.

If this is an emergency call 911 NOW! The hospital has a social worker on staff that can help very quickly to locate the assistance you need. Make sure you refuse to bring her home until they help you get the needed assistance in place.

Many assisted living places will allow and even encourage spouses to remain together. It largely depends on your individual needs.

Bless you! There is an "aid and attendance" benefit from the VA which can provide financial assistance for veterans and their spouses to get assistance to remain in their homes. There are also veteran's homes in some states, also for veterans and their dependents, where you could perhaps live together and your wife could get the help she needs. The aid and attendance benefit is available to vets who have served in wartime, whether or not they were injured. In your case, since you were injured you may get a bigger benefit. You'll need a copy of your discharge papers to apply. I would call your local VA office to get the aplication started as son as possible.
