I don't have an answer, but have this problem with my dad. He doesn't get any appetite enhancing meds. I use Benecalorie that I mix into about 4 ounces of orange juice or milk. It was also okay in applesauce. I give it 3x a day, he stopped drinking Ensure this week, so this at least gives about a thousand calories. I am interested in whatever advice you get.

does he drink anything if so dry veggies and fruit grind to a powder[coffee grinder] add chia seed, hemp seed or bean flour for protein and thickening and warm milk, broth, soy what ever he would like. most people like lots of salt and sugar so try both see what he like best and go from there. my grandmother loved banana pudding shake. freeze one banana, half of cup of heavy cream, 1/4 cup of hemp seed, 2 tbs of honey and 1 teaspoon of chia seeds blend with ice. veggy soup in a cup dry veggies grinded in to powder 1/2 cup, 2 tbs beans flour, 1 teaspoon garlic powder,1 cup of hot broth, 1 teaspoon onion powder, salt and pepper to taste. good luck.

Do not tube. Respect his decision. Not easy, I know, but he has the right to say "Enough".

I 2nd the suggestion to not do stomach tube.
For the smoothies, great idea, and I have had good luck with getting freeze-dried fruits & veggies from a website called nuts. They are super-fast delivery (sometimes next day!). I love their FD peaches, bluberry, and also FD spinach is amazing. They also carry the chia and hemp seesds. MACA powder is another healthy addition, makes smoothy seem like it has ice cream, even if it dodoesn't.
