My husband needs assisted living, I don’t right now. We want to be together, or the general vicinity. How is that handled?

You can go with him, one apartment, we are placing my step-father and his wife in AL. He is in bad health, she is heading down the dementia path, still functioning now. If she needs to go into MC, he will go with her. I would look at homes that offer a step up program, Independent Living to Assisted Living to Memory Care and finally Hospice. They are moving into a 700 sq ft apartment with 1 1/2 baths.

You can live with him in assisted living. Most if all not facilities will a spouse to live there too.
