She can’t say anything that he doesn’t just down her.He has alway been that way with her, but the dementia has made it worse. He has 3 adult children, she is the only one that helps in any way. He is much better to us both when there is a man here. Can anyone relate to this? Moma

Find Care & Housing
Some men were just raised not to respect women and they consider them inferior to themselves. Dementia just makes this behavior worse. How does his daughter feel about this? It’s a shame if she’s used to being treated like this, but it she may have accepted it since she’s never been treated any differently. Make sure that you, yourself constantly reassure her how much of a help she is to you in taking care of her father. If he behaves better when there is a man there, have this man tell him to be nicer to his daughter. Maybe he will listen to this man.
