Not your circus, not your monkeys. Please go to an Al-Anon meeting and learn how to not get dragged in to messes he makes. Ask them to send some literature to the GF too.

There is only one way she can get him to leave. Tell him to leave and give him a date to have his things up and out. If your brother isn't the violent type, that should be enough. If violence is a possibility she needs to have backup that can be there quickly if needed.

If he has been there for a while and he won't leave voluntarily, she may have to go through legal eviction procedures. I hope it doesn't come to this. Legal evictions can take a while and be hard on everyone.

Christine5151, your brother's friend [girl friend or just a buddy?] needs to hand him a Lease where he will be paying a certain amount each month, plus half of the utilities, groceries, etc.

Reason for the Lease is that your brother's friend can no longer afford to have him live there with her carrying all the costs. It's just not fair.
