I want to get out of work to be the one to take care of my father. Where would I apply for that?

The vast majority of adult children do not get paid for caring for their parent.... unless your father could pay you out of his own retirement fund.

Another option is for your father to apply for Medicaid. Some States, not all, have a program where they will pay a relative to care for a love one. The pay will be limited with no benefits, like you would get at work. And these programs could be dropped if the States need to cut their budgets.  You need to think about having your own health insurance.

Its great that you want to quit work and take care of your father, but it can become physically and emotionally exhausting. You could wind up doing the work of 3 full-time caregivers day. You will crash and burn quickly even if the State has a program where they can pay you.

You have a lot to think about.
