When mom was switched from seroquel to risperdal, we saw improvement within the first two weeks but she also had a bad UTI at the time

after one year, the dose was cut in half, and another year later, it has been cut in half again- she will still cuss and pinch but nothing to cause harm

Took my dad about 2 weeks to see a difference but then a few months later, the geriatric psychiatrist took him off the Risperdal and put him on Seroquel. Not sure what the difference is.

Hello djdmhpa,
When it was first given to my dad it took about a week to work, but it depends on the person. I think it can take a month to see results in some people.
My mum is also on Risperdal. Her aggressiveness has calmed down since being on it but she can still throw a punch or nip and bend my hand back on itself. Very painful. When I guess that’s about to happen I keep well away from her and don’t turn my back on her.
Hope that helps.
