April--can you be a little more descriptive? Within your comfort zone, of course.

My FIL had some odd tendencies--he'd take photos of himself in various states of sexual nature--often in front of a window with people outside, who (I hope) could not see him. I discovered this when I went through his photos and negatives. So shocking and awful for me. In the same 'roll' as a birthday party, there'd be photos he'd taken of himself in the nude. I actually cried over this--it made WHY he and my MIL got divorced a lot clearer.

Every single negative/photo was shredded and I hope and pray nobody has copies of these photos--but he took them to a one hour processing place and they SEE the photos.....well, he died 15 years ago and I only told my hubby (who did not and does not believe me) so it's a thing of the past.

Knowing more about what your dad is doing would help.

With dementia comes the loss of filters. What he would NEVER normally do, suddenly seems OK. That may be helpful to YOU, but not so much to the people around him who can feel like 'victims' if he is groping or fondling, or exposing himself.

Sorry but, People who are exposed to men who are groping or fondling them, or exposing themselves, ARE victims and not 'victims', regardless of whether the man has dementia or not. It's never okay to witness such a thing or to be a victim of it; loved ones must contact the doctor to get a prescription for dementia patients exhibiting Inappropriate Sexual Behavior (ISB).

Inappropriate Sexual Behavior or ISB is a symptom of dementia in some people. There is medication available for this, so please speak to the person's doctor about it if he is exhibiting it.
