The nurses only said she would call me when she was able but it's been 3 weeks and no contact from anyone. Something isn't right and almost feels like she's been kidnapped. Not sure who to call first. 911, an attorney?

You shouldn’t leave this with the nurses – they may have no idea where she has gone. Contact the hospital social worker, or even the CEO.

The Patient Advocate would be another person to seek out. Call the hospital and ask for him/her. Explain that you have some urgent concerns about the "continuity" of your mother's care. Call the SW as well and anyone up the chain of command. I'd say after 3 weeks, it's OK to leave a message for more than one person. Do you have legal authority to request information? Is there someone who doesn't want this information given to you? If I ever had to move LO, there is one particular person in my circle who would not be told where LO was moved.

Thank you. I finally located her after a wild goose chase.
I ended up on the hospital website and emailed them my situation. A patient advocate returned my call and provided the rehab.
That rehab gave me the runaround saying she was there, then she was not and I was transferred around.
I found there website and emailed them. 5 minutes later they called me and provided a 2nd rehab was transferred to from there.
On her side whomever she was requesting to contact me kept telling her tomorrow and brushing off the request. Not sure if it was the lady from APS. No legal authority. She is starting to have memory issues, but hasnt been diagnosed yet. I do pay her bills through her account as she added me to it.

Are you telling me that NO ONE in your family has any idea where your Mother was sent? Ummmmmm. This isn't normal. Call to hospital administration. Tell them that the next step for your MISSING parent is the police. To be frank it would be almost unheard of here In US for any place to accept a patient without family contact and paperwork if there is family at all; I can't even begin to imagine this.

During my hospital calls to my mom, she told me my number was written on the board as a point of contact by one of the nurses.
I wonder if it was the lady from APS. She initially called me when my Mom was 1st admitted. And nothing since.
I finally located her (story in a reply below) and in both emails I tossed out the term medical kidnapping. I'm not sure if that added to their urgency but I was called back quick both times. I found out her requests to call me (shes never had a cell phone), were brushed off with oh tomorrow.
