How do I find someone to stay at my mom's over night at a reasonable cost? She is self sufficient but her doctor doesn't want her to be alone in case she should fall. The caregiver could sleep with use of a monitor to hear if she gets up. Suggestions?

Find Care & Housing
Wouldn't a fall bracelet accomplish what you are looking for a caregiver for?

If you want someone to just be there overnight, you are going to have to decide if you want someone to live there with the agreement that they give you fair notice that they won't be there at night, for a night or 2 or do you want someone that will just sleep there and assist if needed?

I would look for a single older woman that is in need of housing and offer her room and board with a small weekly payment for being there overnight. Remember that you are only asking for someone to be present, if you want any work done, that will need to be negotiated and paid.

My heart goes out to you. It is so difficult when our loved ones are at that in between state.

Whatever you decide to do, pleeeeaaase get a contract that is very specific and has an out, such as, any violation will result in a 3 day notice of eviction.

Thank you fir your suggestions. My sister is currently living with her but that will soon change. My mom has been waking up very early... long before her daytime caregiver gets there. So it is actually more than just a fall issue at this point.
