Find Care & Housing
Maciekate, majority of grown children/friends do not get paid for caring of a parent/friends-parent. Or as LoopyLoo had mentioned in her posting, the patient pays you directly. If your friend's Mom can do that, then I would highly recommend you draw up an employment agreement.

Another option is to see if your friend's Mom is on Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. Each State handles their own Medicaid programs, thus each State is different. Check with the State office to see if you can be paid. Don't be surprised if you find out the pay is minimum wage for a few hours per week :(

Didn't your friend discuss the payment prior to you helping with your friend's Mom? Or did your friend assume the government would pay you? Please note that Medicaid is taxpayer funded.

Either your friend or her mother would have to pay you. Medicare doesn’t pay you directly.
