How can we remove my Mother's pants and pullups if she has no leg strength?

BTW in case you didn't know, most pull ups are designed to tear easily at the side seams, no cutting required.

Nothing for it: you'll have to do a detour to her bedroom, transfer her to the bed, remove her lower clothing, transfer her from the bed to the portable toilet (which of course you "port" next to the bed), cover her with a towel or robe to maintain privacy and dignity, then reverse the process. I'm sorry, this probably sounds like a retreat in the battle against frailty, but it's better than trying to maul her clothes off her while she's propped in one helper's arms while another does the yanking; and whatever you do, please do maintain toileting for as long as you possibly can. Is she able to let you know in reasonably good time that she needs to "go"?

There are Depends that have adhesive stickers on each side so you wouldn't have to pull them down. Just unstick them while she's still in the chair and they'll fall right down when you transfer her.

It may be time for a nursing home where they can have two people always available to assist her. If that's not a possibility you may have to resort to dressing her in hospital type clothing that opens in the back and cutting off the pull-ups to help her onto the toilet. A bedpan is the only solution I can offer.

Thanks for the suggestions. Getting her to the bed and removing the clothes may be somewhat of a solution for the short term. We may be looking at nursing home care but hope to put this off as long as possible.
