Millie is 95 years old with shaky hands and dementia. How can we maintain oral hygiene if she will not or cannot brush her teeth and does a poor job using an oral rinse? She will use an oral rinse, but does not force the rinse between her teeth leaving food residue between her teeth when she spits it out.

The woman is 95 with Dementia! The least of your worries is forcing oral rinse between her teeth at this point. Brush her teeth for her every day for a bit and call it good enough.

There are little sponges on a stick you can get. The toothpastebis in them. Wet and brush.

Towards the end of my husbands life I had to brush his teeth for him, so I would recommend making your life and Millie's too, by just brushing them for her.

My husband has dementia, and I've been brushing and flossing his teeth for him in the shower. I got a water pik, which is really good for the flossing, I just have to wear my glasses because it comes right back into my eyes!
