Find Care & Housing
From what I’ve read on this site, it’s a giant pain to try to get paid to be a caregiver for a family member. There seem to be a lot of conditions and rules to follow. I also remember reading that you get paid by your parents and not from an agency or the government and it’s like $40 a week.

Carol, Hugemom is correct, it is a giant pain to try to get paid to be a caregiver for your parents or any family member. The vast majority of grown children do not get paid, unless the parent can pay from their own retirement fund.

Now you could try to see if your parent qualify for Medicaid. If yes, and depending on what State you live in, you might be able to be paid, but note the pay would be very minimal.

Let us know how you make out regarding this issue.
