As Jeanne recommended, social services or elder services - which ever it is called in your area should be able to assist in many ways. If he qualifies for need based assistance - he could qualify for a home health aid to come in and clean and do certain chores; maybe a nurse to check him from time to time. There is also meals on wheels delivered by volunteers right to their door.

Hope you find some guidance; I'm sure you will. Take care

Call his county Social Services department and ask for a needs assessment. Arrange to be there for this interview. They will ask questions to determine need and also ask about his finances and then suggest ways to meet the needs. I suspect the the in-home program of Medicaid will be suggested.

For my personal situation I found that Social Services was a great starting point.

Good luck to you, zen7531!
