She was so good and gave such excellent care to my mom (who passed away in April) I'd like to help her find another position here locally. She's gone up north, has another job but is quite miserable. What can I do to help her find something similar to what we had but local so she can see her daughter?

Thank you for your valued answers. I've written a glowing reference already. Good idea about doctor offices. Any suggestions on where else I might look (keeping eyes & ears open for suitable positions)?

If you are on friendly terms with any of the office staff at your mom's doctors, they may know of persons looking for a caregiver in your aware a. Reccomendations go a long way.

Beyond writing her a glowing reference and keeping your eyes and ears open for suitable positions I can't see how else you can help. I'm glad she was so good to you and your mom, but moving on just goes with the job description. Perhaps if she was willing to care for more than one person on a set schedule she would have more opportunities available and be less apt to burn out from the unpleasant ones.
