Find Care & Housing
Hello and welcome.

Being a caregiver is really a thankless job that we take on, isn’t it? It’s great that you’re recognizing that it’s too much and you need help.

Are you able to afford any caregiver respite care and hire a PSW for a few hours? Once a week, or even a couple of days a week would greatly help take the burden off.

You may have reached the point of having to place your mother in the appropriate facility. You say in your profile that she has Alzheimer's/dementia, so probably a memory care facility if mom can afford it. And if not, you will have to apply for Medicaid for your mother, so she can be placed.
You know that she will only continue to get worse, so it's best now to look into your options for her care.
You are now at the point that you must not only do what's best for your mother, but also what is best for you, because you're worth taking care of too.

You can call social services for her county to get a needs assessment for in-home services. It won't be full-time but some help sooner while you investigate placement for her. Hopefully you have PoA for her. If not you can talk to the county social workers about this. I'm so sorry you're left to do it all by yourself but there are solutions, even if they aren't perfect. Please make yourself a priority so that your own health and wellbeing don't suffer. Blessings.
