She is kept permanently in home. I have been the sole caregiver of my mom for years with no help. She had to go to the hospital and the doctor said she would have to go to rehab, because I would not be able to care for her like she was. I had to use one credit card to get clothing and bed clothes for her stay in rehab. Her air went out. I couldn't afford to have it replaced. I had to use another......Home Depot....to purchase 2 small window units and paint to paint her bedroom while she was out of it. All the while I thought she would be coming home after rehab. She was unable to complete rehab or come home. The doctors said there was no way I could take care of her alone. She has sundowners and dementia. I averaged about 2 hours of sleep a night. I was exausted. They kept her permanently in the nursing home and now they have all her income. Will her credit card companies hold me legally responsible for the purchases made while she was in rehab, even though they were for her. I'm afraid they may try to make me pay the whole bill which she kept run up for things she had to have even though she was ill. I would take her in her wheelchair to shop for things through the years. She had no restraint on her spending. I was so exausted I just did what she wanted. Will they make me pay these things?
