Good day to all. I am looking for a medical coverage for my mother. She is 63 y.o and became permanent resident 2 years ago. We reunited and I am her sponsor. I am wondering if I can purchase any Health Insurance Marketplace such as Obama care? Wouldn't this impact her immigration status?

You could also call your County Office of Aging to see if they can help you getting the right insurance for what she can afford. Each State only allows certain companies to write insurance in their state. For my Mom in NJ, there were only 3. My MIL in Fla had 10.

I guess you realize that Mom will never qualify for Medicare because she never paid into it. Also, that Mom will need to be a resident for another 3 yrs before she qualifies for Medicaid.
