My concern is patients that tested positive for flu are walking around coughing, touching other patients. This facility has been under quarantine for 5 days now we not allowed to leave our floors. Us healthy one can't even go outside on the beautiful day to breathe fresh air. Another concern is a woman on my floor has C Diff used shower this morning and hasn't been disinfected and also still roommate with a healthy elderly woman. Does anyone have email address I reside in westchester county ny.

Have you contacted your ombudsman?

If you call you'll get the office of Mark Miller, NY state Ombudsman. Free language assistance is available.

Another name I got was Tamaris Princi for the county of Westchester at .

Take your concerns, which are very valid, to the Ombudsman.

When my dad was in a nursing home they had to practically rearrange the entire population to keep people from getting the flu. Residents moved to and from other wings and they also had to double up in rooms. It was temporary but inconvenient.

Are there bottles of hand sanitizer throughout your facility? If not see if you can get your own. This may cut down on your chance of getting the flu if used regularly.

I hope you get these issues resolved. Will you let us know?

She can't talk on the phone. That's why she needs an email address.

I haven't seen the ombudsman in over a week. I can't make any calls because nobody would understand me over the phone.

Can you write down your concerns and ask a friend or family member to make the call on your behalf?

WILC is an independent living center. An ombudsman cannot get into a NH during a quarantine. I would go to the Westchester county health department website, click on contact us and e-mail them.
