Gramma stubbornly is still independent. My Aunt who watches her returned home for a week so I got volunteered. I go to take a shower, or anything, she comes in somehow without me hearing her and does random things. (Steals my towels to wash that are clean, let's dogs out without watching to make sure they don't escape the old fence, locks up her house like Fort Knox because you stepped outside, can't hear but seems to somehow eavesdrop when on the phone around corners)...

Does she use a walker or cane? If so put a bell on it.
I would also put bells on all the doors so that if any are opened you will be aware of it. (this is outside doors) You could also put your keys or a bell on the bathroom door when you are in the bathroom, your bedroom door so that is she opens the door you would be aware of it.
Keep a copy of the house key on a chain or shoelace that you wear on your neck. Or get one of the bracelet elastic coil things that you can wear on your wrist. Put a key to the house on it so if you are locked out you can get back in easily.

So supposed to use a cane, and doesnt. She doesnt wander she does the opposite. She has hidden her house key to be made over and my aunt is outta state in IL and says she doesnt even own one and shes POA. We tried the bell thing, she takes them down and hides them.

How about her shoes? Can you get her a pair of shoes that squeaks when she walks?

Instead of bells, there are sensors that chime and you put them up high so she can't reach.

So I said this in another response, because I've been looking for the key to copy, shes been following me around. So now I just know where she is. But the chime thing doesnt sound like a bad time at all! I'll run it by my aunt and see.

Anywhere I live has had a door key outside, usually in a plastic bag and buried if there is no other option. Swipe her key, get copies made. At least don’t get locked out! If there are no keys (she’s forgotten where she hid it), get the locks changed, keyed alike, and get copies of the new keys. Put a cup hook on the top of the bathroom door so you can shower in peace. Try a cup hook on doors to outside if you are tied up inside, eg in the bathroom. She may work out how to take if off, but it’s worth a try for the rest of the week. Talk to aunt about what to do to make life easier for her as well as you. I’ve no idea how to handle the eavesdropping when you are on the phone, but if you get into an argument about getting the keys to copy (some authority requires a safety copy etc), bring the eavesdropping up as a complaint on the list. What a trial!

So as for the bathroom thing. Today I am gonna hide towels under the sink, (her 2and husband whom passed aways' son came by and threw that idea- his family helps visit) take a washcloth and another towel and have it outside the door so she'll just pick it up and wander away. The key, I've been hunting for but shes now following me around so keeping track is less of an issue now more of it's like her incentive knows I'm trying to work around her! The eavesdropping I figured out is less while shes in the time slot between lunch and dinner. So phone calls will be had whole also I hide under her basements built in bar she never used- ever- shes a good Baptist. It bought me a 40min conversation with my mother yesterday. And her doc called my Aunt with results and said she is beginning stages of kidney failure... but it proceed just letting her do what she wants.
