Find Care & Housing
Read the contract, it will tell you how many days before leaving a written notice must be given. If you can't find the contract ask the billing dept. And it is important that you give written notice, not just verbal.

You would need to read over the admissions papers to see how days notice is required.

What are the medical issues with your Uncle? Does he need around the clock attention? Are you ready for that, or will you be bringing in caregivers to help?

Have you ever stayed 24 hours with your Uncle at the care home to see what is all involved? I know when people come to visit, it all looks pretty easy for the hour or two that they are visiting. They don't realize what work is involved behind the scenes.

Are there any other care facilities that would work for your Uncle?

You've only asked about the notice period, and you've been given advice about that.

Would you like to discuss the issue of bringing him to live with you?

Of course review the contract carefully to see where he stands legally and to see what his financial obligations are with this facility, but, I would also become very familiar with all that is involved with a senior's care in the home. 24 hour around the clock care can be a huge responsibility that is often unmanageable in the home without a team of professionals. And that can be expensive. I think I might first locate another facility that might do a job that you consider satisfactory.

Well there are legal issues too. If he was placed there by court order, then you have to talk to the Guardian appointed by the court. If there is a person appointed as conservator or health care POA, you talk to them.
