Unfortunately no, social security doesn't work that way. Under no circumstances is it ever given to someone else. The SSA will yank that payment out of your mom's bank account before the ink is dry on her death certificate.

i am my mother's only caregiver and her only child. i am in the process of applying for disability due to chronic pain issues. disability is very difficult to get and can take many years. most claims are denied. so i am thinking of other options. thank you for your thoughts.
