Call your insurance companies and ask what home health options exist. I recently discovered that my mom's insurance plan would cover a one time doctor visit at home to check her out, review meds and script needed services.

While that option would not be a solution to ongoing issues, it might get you a script for visiting nursing services on a periodic basis.

Think also about whether hospice might be an option to consider; they will usually send a doctor or nurse to do an inhome evaluation.

Medical transport ( an ambulette) is an expensive but convenient option if mom is bedbound.

Thank you, all. Cwillie, yes she does have a DNR. All paperwork is in place. There is a medical clinic where she lives where nurse practitioners do in home visits. I should look into that as well.
