My husband has Alzheimer's and goes thru about 5 underpants a day and sometimes has to change his pants. Whenever he wets his pants, he try's to blame it on something spilling, or one of the animals(not possible). Can anyone suggest how I introduce them to him. I have left them out and he just ignores them.
He has been checked by a urologist yearly, so he has no physical problem.

There is an online catalog called Easy Comforts. Do a search for it because I can't post the URL. Scroll down the left side of the home page for the department called Incontinence. You will find that there are many options for men. Perhaps one of them would be better received by your husband. He is afraid of seeming old. Even in his demented state, he wants you to see him as the man of the house, that's why he blames other things. Good luck.

My father had trouble identifying the front/back, so I marked the back side for him. There are a couple of different versions, I think. Some are more like cloth and some are more fitted. Last idea, you could buy some for yourself and wear them just to make him more comfortable with the idea.

They make some under wear that is for incontinence, looks like under wear and has a special lining for incontinence. You can also replace his normal under wear with disposable, they make some not that look like regular men's under wear. I had a client that didn't like changing clothes, I instructed the caregiver to inform him the 'general' is coming so he must look his best, (he was in the service). This worked. Keep trying, don't get discouraged.
