We just found out that my mother has been deemed a ward of the state in Nevada after her husband took her there from our home here in Missouri. We are trying to figure out how to acquire guardianship of her or have her state guardianship moved back to Missouri so she can be close to us. We have contacted an attorney but they want $2500-$5000 that we just don't have. Can anyone give us any advice?

Find Care & Housing
Her guardian is now the state of Nevada. You will need to hire a Nevada attorney and get the court's permission to move her. Then you will need a Missouri attorney to get guardianship in Missouri.
If she is on Nevada Medicaid, you reapply in Missouri.
Doing this is so complex and expensive, most folks do not pursue it.
