I have been taking caring of my sister since December. She lives in NJ. I live in PA where I'm paying rent. Is there compensation?

She had 5th spinal surgery. Went to rehabs and developed ulcerative pressure sores (3). Three times a week her wounds are cleaned and a vacuum is affixed. A physical therapist visits 2 times a week. I'm here to assist in her every day needs. As well as care for a wound every other day.

Vast majority of family caregiver do not get paid, unless the patient can pay you from their own funds.

I wish I could say there is. It sounds like she is already getting services with a PT and RN. What concerns me is whether or not the rehab was negligent regarding the pressure sores. You might want to talk to an attorney who handles nursing home negligence.
