When you say abusive what do you mean? You can always file a domestic violence injunction if someone, no matter who it is, is getting or has gotten violent with you. Emotional abuse is just as detrimental to someone as is physical abuse.

I'm written a book on this, though it deals more with kids struggling in a difficult job market who are reluctant to move ahead in ahead. Your situation sounds like one where you might simply call the police and ask them for guidance. Eviction is certainly an option, but will require court papers to be filed.

I have a 59 year old crack addicted brother who is verbally abusive to his parents who are 86 and 82 years of age and living in their home. He refuses to assist in their care but takes advantage of all the comforts that the home provides. I've tried to baker act him however the judge refused to commit him to some type of care and the only way to remove him immediately would be for him to perform some type of violent act against them.
