We currently have a caregiver with her 3 days a week 2 hrs a day, her Medicare pays for that. However, he income is so very low that she need more financial help. I take care of her 4 days a week and pay for the extra things that she needs. I called the ALZMO.org to get help but they only provide financial help if you are living with the patient. I just need to know if there are any programs out there that help families?
Thanks

Find Care & Housing
The only thing that comes to mind is to see if the patient can qualify for Medicaid. If she can, then Medicaid might be able to supply an Aide to come into the patient home for a couple hours a day to help out.

Also contact your county agency on aging for programs such as Case Management, Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Care, housing, care referrals, etc,... go to the website link below.... click on your State.... now click on the city/county. https://www.agingcare.com/local/Area-Agency-on-Aging

If the patient's Alzheimer's is to a point where she can't live on her own, Medicaid could help with the payments for a continuing care facility. Call your State Medicaid office. Each State has their own program, rules and regulations.

Freqflyer is right. Contact local Area Agency on Aging, or county social services. Someone with Alz should probably be placed in a facility, eventually.
