Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a parent with dislocated hip? My mom slid out of bed and hip was put back in, but apparently got dislocated again in the hospital, with all the turning, etc. Now after the anesthesia she has pneumonia. We have put her under Hospice care, but is only taking Tylenol - guess it's because of the pneumonia. What else can she take for pain? Anyone have experience with CBD and how much? This is a big blow after she was moving around and doing well, then suddenly this. Thanks

Tylenol or Tylenol 3?

She can e given morphine if she is still in pain.

If she takes opioids, be aware that they can cause severe constipation and something to counteract that should be given as well.

Morphine will also aid her breathing.

Right now they are just giving 500 mg Tylenol every several hours. I did find it in liquid form at the drug store which will be good because easier to mix in with food. I read about a fentanyl patch, might not be spelling it right, and not sure if that would help. I am also having problems getting her changed because she can't go on that hip.

Why are you buying her meds if she is on hospice? They should be supplying everything.

They will not pay for CBD oil

Hospice provides all pain relieving medication including morphine. If your mom is in pain when you change her give her some morphine prior to changing her. Bed-bound with a dislocated hip is painful. Having to be changed and turned will be painful. Being given a bath will be painful. Talk to your hospice about pain control and how to change and turn your mom with her dislocated hip.
