My mom is ill and in hospital. We had to take her dentures out. We did not not how to store them so we put them in a solution and sealed.
Mom is awake now. She cannot eat due to all foods sticking to her dentures. She says that now her tongue feels like sand. She has lost 30 lbs. Please help!! If she don't eat she will die. She has a feeding tube. But just not enough nutrients.
All of the above foods, plus custard (proper custard, made with whole egg and cream). Or, at this stage, anything juicy that takes her fancy. If she'd like savoury, try seafood cocktail if she likes that. Don't worry about salt, sugar, fat or anything else at this point, just her palate. And don't forget milk.
It's true that when someone gets to a certain point they don't want to eat and the body no longer needs the food but if she is hungry and wants the taste of food, wants to eat, she should be able to.
