Are you receiving the Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit, monthly amount for caregiving expenses? These funds are not charity, but a benefit for veterans and their spouses. Income/assets under $80k, for veterans who have served at least one day during an officially declared war.
It has been recommended to go directly to your local veteran's office.
These funds are for you to hire help, and can be $1,000/ month, or more.

Wounded Warriers?

I've read this thread more than a few times and had no suggestions but just thought of a few.

1. United Way's helpline is 211; they might have some suggestions, including local organizations such as Christmas in Action that help people. CiA focuses on house rehab, but there might be others than provide services.

2. The service organizations - VFW, American Legion, and others. They might even be able to pull together some volunteers.

3. TV stations - veterans are newsy these days, and unlike after the Vietnam War, some organizations are making real efforts to provide employment and assist with re-integration. Companies want to present a veteran-friendly profile, and what better way to do it than provide assistance?

4. Don't each of the military branches have their own support organizations?

Thank you to the nice people who made comments about my moving issue.
With mild dementia, it might take me awhile to deal with my move. I'm a strong guy
and will figure this out.

If all else fails (and I sincerely hope it doesn't), you could try crowd sourcing. I'm sure that would work. Good luck to you. Please let us know what you do.
