It's always safer to go with a professional company. They do background checks and are bonded, so that if something goes missing, you have some recourse. Plus, they have insurance coverage in case the worker is injured on your property.

I'm just very wary of strangers coming into my home. I might would check with someone in my church or social circle. There might be someone who wants to denote their time to help you. I would still keep liability issues in mind, in case they injure themselves doing work on your property. Do you have premises insurance coverage? I hate to sound cynical, but you have to protect yourself these days.

Thank you Sunnygirl 1, I do have homeowners Ins. Don't know if it would cover this type of thing, or not? Problem with professional company is the cost!

Yes, the professional companies are rather expensive. Sometimes a church might have a group of ladies who help other ladies who are injured, shut in, etc. They don't charge for their services. I know that a local church put a roof on my disabled aunt's house one time when she didn't have the funds. . Or you might see if your local Counsel on Aging has any volunteer groups who help seniors. My college group would rake leaves for seniors as part of our charity work.
